Vela Ordo User Guide
Vela Ordo lets you get work done in a single web page by talking to your AI team: describe what you need, watch the team move it forward, and steer the key calls in plain conversation. This guide focuses on the part you'll use most — Agent chat.
1 · Getting started
- Go to maxapp.velaordo.com and sign in with your Vela Ordo account.
- You'll land directly on the Agent chat screen — the place you'll use most.
- This app bundles several tools. To switch between them, left-click the nine-dot grid icon in the top-left of any screen (hovering only shows the tooltip Switch app — you have to click it to open the panel). The panel switches between the tools inside this app (all on this site; it won't take you to another website): Agent chat, Voice room, Agent builder, Workspace, Profile, Connect. Right now only Agent chat is available; the rest are still in development: Voice room / Agent builder / Workspace (see section 6), and Profile / Connect (please use the first-generation app for now, see section 7). This guide covers Agent chat — the panel item whose URL ends in /agent-chat.
2 · Overview
The Agent chat screen has three columns, left to right:
- Left — your conversation list: every conversation lives here, and you start new ones here.
- Center — the current conversation: all the back-and-forth with your AI team happens here.
- Right — Notifications: when an agent needs a reply from you, a reminder appears here.
3 · Your conversation list (left)
The left column lists all your conversations, newest at the top.
- Click New Chat (with the “+” icon) at the top to start a new conversation.
- The list header shows Chats · N (N = number of conversations). Each row shows the conversation title, the last-updated time (for example 1m, 5d, 6d), and — if the conversation is linked to a tracked piece of work — a key such as LAUREN-14.
- Click any row to switch to that conversation; the one you're currently in is highlighted.
4 · Talking with your agents (center)
Send a message
Type in the box at the bottom (placeholder Reply to the agent…) and press Enter to send, or click Send ↵ in the bottom-right; press Shift + Enter for a new line. Replies appear in the thread in real time — there's no need to refresh the page.
Turn a conversation into tracked work
At first, the top of a conversation reads DIRECT CHAT · not linked to an epic, meaning it isn't yet linked to a formal, trackable piece of work. To link it:
- Click Create Epic (the ✨ icon) next to the composer. It arms, and a hint appears beneath the box: A new epic will be created with your next message. Click “Create Epic” again to cancel. (the send button also changes to Create Epic ↵).
- Send your next message, and the system creates and links a piece of work; the header changes from DIRECT CHAT to a key such as LAUREN-15.
- To cancel before sending, click Create Epic again.
Each conversation is independent
The line beneath the box — each thread has its own context · agent only sees this thread — means an agent only sees the conversation you're currently in. To work on something else, start a new conversation or switch to another one.
5 · Notifications (right column)
Most of the time your agents keep things moving on their own. When a conversation is waiting on you — that is, an agent has replied and is waiting for you to respond — it's listed in the right column, Notifications · across all threads. When something is waiting, the top reads Other agents need you.; when nothing is, it reads No agents waiting. with No pending agent questions in the list below. The number next to the heading is how many conversations are waiting on you.
This list is gathered across all your conversations, so you can see at a glance what's waiting without opening each one. Each card shows: the related work and conversation (for example an epic key and title), a snippet of what the agent last said, and which agent it is (for example Triage or a Team Lead), with open → in the bottom-right.
Reply back in the conversation
Click any card or open →, and you're taken straight back to that conversation, positioned at the agent's latest message. Just reply in the usual box — once you reply, the conversation drops off the waiting list.
6 · Coming soon
These features are rolling out. You may already see them in the Switch app menu, but they're not active yet:
| Feature | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Voice room | Hold a live voice meeting with your agents. |
| Agent builder | Assemble and design your team of agents. |
| Workspace | See your work and the files your team produces at a glance. |
7 · Account, payment & integrations
These settings open from the Switch app menu and work the same as in the first-generation app, so here are just pointers:
- Profile (your profile & settings) — manage your account and general settings. See the first-generation app guide.
- Connect (AI integrations) — connect Vela Ordo to the AI tools you already use. See the first-generation app guide.
- Adding credit (AI Credits) & Subscription — do this in the first-generation app: go to app.velaordo.com and sign in. The steps are in the first-generation app guide.
